The Role
The Fleet Air Arm Museum is seeking a motivated, talented and skilled APS 5 Education Services Coordinator. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Sea Power Centre – Australia (SPC-A) and Fleet Air Arm Museum (FAAM). You will engage with the local community, other museums and heritage and learning centres, and the broader Navy to provide an educational and enjoyable experience to those who visit the FAAM.
The APS 5 Education Services Coordinator will demonstrate experience in some or all areas relating to:
- Liaise with external stakeholders regarding educational tours and events.
- Design events and activities to promote Navy Heritage and its mission.
- Propose operational strategies for the education services function which will support the museum, Navy Heritage and Defence Heritage missions.
- Demonstrate understanding of education services best practice in heritage institutions.
- Demonstrate understanding of current school curricula as they pertain to Navy Heritage.
- Demonstrate understanding of Defence training programs as they pertain to Navy Heritage.
- Collect and analyse visitor feedback.
- Coordinate marketing activities and design initiatives in line with Defence policy and guidelines.
- Maintain social media pages.
- Manage advertising bookings and budget.

This position is embedded in the Fleet Air Arm Museum, which sit within the Sea Power Centre - Australia. You will be part of a supportive team, working in a dynamic environment, to support Navy deliver education and community outreach.
You will be part of the Team who are striving to create the best educational and inviting experience for the visitors, whilst also educating serving Navy personnel on the history of the service.
