Preschool Teaching Director / Nominated Supervisor
Fulltime 38 hours per week
Cullunghutti Aboriginal Child and Family Centre is an Aboriginal community controlled early intervention early childhood service on the South Coast.
Cullunghutti Preschool is licensed for 30 children aged 3-5 years and located in West Nowra.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and Passionate Educator to take on the role of Preschool Teaching Director/ Nominated Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the service, lead, guide, and support a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children.
As our Preschool Teaching Director/ Nominated Supervisor, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate a range of culturally sensitive, child centred programs and services to children. You must maintain and create cultural safety for Aboriginal families and identify strengths, increase capacity for resilience and promote positive family relationships.

Essential
- Degree / Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- NESA Early Childhood Teacher Accreditation for ECT applicants
- Previous experience as a Director or Nominated Supervisor of a Preschool service, or experience in a similar role with management exposure
- Previous experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and demonstrate your ability to understand cultural needs within a community and family context.
- Completed an approved child protection statement of attainment
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and Standard, and National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Education & Care National Services Regulations
- Demonstrated high level communication skills
- Effective conflict resolution skills, negotiation, mediation and decision making skills
- A proficient level of computer literacy
- Personal organisational skills including administration skills, time management and ability to prioritise competing demands
- Ability to Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the centre's philosophies
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies to guide positive children's behaviour
- Current Approved first aid qualification for early education and care HLTAID012
- Current Approved course Child Protection CHCPRT025
- A clear Working With Children Check and National police check
- Current Driver’s license
DESIRABLE
- Training in working with children who have trauma backgrounds
- Experience working in an integrated service
- An understanding and knowledge of local Aboriginal communities/organisations
SALARY
Salary will be in accordance with the Educational Services (Teaching) award 2010– MA000077 or the Children's Services Award MA000120 and the policies and procedures of Cullunghutti Aboriginal Child and Family Centre Aboriginal Corporation.
This role is supported by a fulltime administrator.
