Take the lead as a Manager in Schools and Student Support. In this critical role you’ll oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of state-wide initiatives, including projects supporting the Family Support Coordinators initiative. This is a temporary fulltime project position until 31 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. Base location of this role is Central Office, Brisbane.
The Manager reports to the Director, Schools & Student Support.
About The Role
As the Manager, you will provide expert advice and strategic guidance to support the planning and implementation of the unit's priorities, ensuring alignment with the department's agenda and strategic goals. You will act as an insightful planner and strategist, contributing to the development of systemic initiatives and policies that promote smooth transitions into school from early childhood and establish positive patterns of engagement in learning.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Lead, manage and monitor the success of significant implementation projects, strategies, policies and innovative educational frameworks and communicate with key stakeholders and regions to raise awareness of the impacts of significant milestones, issues and achievements.
- Provide leadership, policy and project management expertise in relation to significant education reform agendas.
- Develop departmental and whole of government responses to major state and national level initiatives and reviews of education.
- Establish and maintain networks and liaise with senior officers and representatives in a range of government agencies on a diverse range of complex education issues.
- Liaise and consult about the provision of information for high level corporate reporting and policy activities requiring an integrated response across the branch and department.
- Identify, research and progress strategic initiatives regarding education reform and formulate innovative options and solutions that stimulate and drive community, sector and government agendas.
- Provide strategic advice to the Minister, Director-General, and senior officers to inform quality executive decision making.
- Prepare major policy papers, cabinet submissions, briefings and reports on strategic education reform initiatives.
- Implement evaluation and monitoring processes which measure the impact of strategic initiatives and administrative processes to inform current and future agendas.
- Develop and implement communication strategies for consultation for policy development and implementation and to raise awareness of the outcomes of education reforms in the community.
- Establish effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders and clients.
