About The Role
Join Swinburne University’s International Student Advisory & Support (ISA&S) team as an International Student Adviser (ISA). In this role, you’ll ensure Swinburne meets its welfare, safety, and support obligations under the ESOS Act and related laws, while providing outstanding customer service to international students. You’ll offer crucial information on safety, community, and support services, helping students succeed in their studies and live confidently in Australia.
The ISA will assist students throughout their journey at Swinburne, support critical incidents when needed, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver best practice support services. You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of programs, while taking responsibility for specific cohorts to enhance your professional development.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Experience in supporting international students with a strong customer-service focus, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and strong understanding of cross-cultural communication
- Highly developed written (using MS Office suite), verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor different styles to diverse audiences
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, whilst maintaining individual responsibilities to self and others as a member of a high performing team
- Highly developed negotiation skills and demonstrated problem-solving skills to manage conflicting priorities, particularly within a regulated environment

Qualifications
A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
