The Department of Education International is seeking a dedicated Principal Project Officer to lead accreditation and compliance activities across accredited Queensland state schools. In this role, you'll also provide expert guidance and support to schools, helping them deliver high-quality experiences for international students.
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

The International Student Programs team supports schools and overseas students through a variety of programs, policy and procedures, as well as professional development.
About The Role
As the Principal Project Officer, Strategy and Performance, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Contribute to the current review and refinement of International Student Programs policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Lead high-quality compliance activities for accredited schools and deliver strategic projects that enhance international education outcomes across the unit, branch, and division.
- Partner with schools and regional alliances to promote the consistent delivery of high-quality services that align with departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and Commonwealth legislation.
- Oversee the management, monitoring, and review of Memorandums of Understanding with private-sector English Language Pathway Providers, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and compliance obligations.
- Design and implement strategies to support international teams within schools, including training programs, professional feedback and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead activities to ensure full compliance with the legislative requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018 , and support obligations under the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
- Design, develop, and manage effective communications and engagement strategies for schools, stakeholders, partner organisations, and other education sectors, both domestically and internationally.
