The Director Office of the Executive Director has a pivotal leadership role — one that demands strong governance expertise, exceptional stakeholder management, and a keen understanding of departmental priorities. As Director, you will be responsible for managing the business operations and ensuring the program is strategically aligned, well-governed, and positioned to deliver successful outcomes for its stakeholders. You will work closely with the Director, Delivery to provide high level support and advice to Executive Director, the Assistant Director-General Strategy and Performance and the senior leadership team. Your understanding of public service governance and processes coupled with a strategic understanding of departmental priorities will play a key role in influencing program success and driving positive outcomes.

About The Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Apply your extensive public-sector experience to shape and embed strong governance, assurance, risk management, and decision-making systems and processes aligned with departmental frameworks, policy and procedure.
- Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the Office of the ED, ensuring the office functions effectively and meets organisational priorities.
- Lead and manage a team, ensuring alignment with overall program goals and fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, representing the ED in various meetings and forums.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Office of the ED, Office of the ADG, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the development and management of budget and milestone reporting for the program.
- Prepare and review complex documentation for boards and committees, ensuring clarity, strategic insight, and alignment with departmental standards.
- Lead communications that keep leadership and stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment—anticipating emerging issues, changing your approach where needed, and constantly scanning for opportunities to add value to the department's strategic direction.
